Kimbap Cheonguk ~ Kimbap Heaven!
About the second time Andrew and I ventured out for a Korean meal without the help of a co-teacher we discovered a tiny kimbap restaurant. The owners are super friendly and don’t mind our poor attempts at Korean when ordering food. Before I knew the phrase for “I don’t eat meat, I’m a vegetarian” I just said “Gogi aneyo”- meaning “meat no”, and that did the job. Their food is DeLiCioUs and also cheap. The most expensive thing on the menu is W 5500, which is like R37 / $5.
I could eat there everyday! (and I just about did for the first month until I started feeling ashamed).
They're also known for the best gimbap in town so when ever I need a snack, it's my number one place. My favourite type is chamchee gimbap, which is tuna, and because the owners know me they automatically take the ham out.
Kimbap Cheonguk is a franchise so most towns in South Korea should have this yummy food.
